Q: How do I become a member? A: You can become a member by going to the home page and clicking the link for AEM Membership Application 2018-19 and filling it out then returning it to an E-Board member or the room provider on the application with your membership dues. 

Q: How much are membership dues? A: Dues are $8 BEFORE September 24th and will increase to $13 afterwards. You are also required to pay $27 to MEA 

Q: When is it too late to join? A: It's never too late! We are always accepting new members! If you know anyone who would like to join, contact us at smea@msu.edu

Q: What are the dues for? A: Member dues go to Outreach to Teach and social events

Q: What do I have to do as a member of SMEA? A: Being a member is a rewarding experience and is not a huge time commitment! All you have to do is attain 16 points each semester. 

Q: Do I have to be an Education major to join? A: Of course not! The Student Michigan Education Association provides many great outlets and experiences that will benefit you in your future career. The majority of our events and speakers are centered around education, however there is NO requirement!

Q: Where can I see my points? A: Under the "Member Points" tab

Q: What happens if I don't reach 16 points at the end of the semester? A: Achieving 16 points plus participating in Outreach means that you are an active member of AEM here at MSU. We invite our active members to a celebratory banquet at the end of spring semester and are awarded an official certificate that can be put on resumes.
